Monastic life

The monastery in Vyšší Brod / Hohenfurth as it stands today is more than just a historical monument and cultural heritage. It is an inhabited house, a living tradition. Thanks be to God, the Lord of all what happens!

Holy Masses

The Most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is offered exclusively according to the Roman Missal of 1962 (popularly known as Traditional Latin Mass) with Cistercian propers. The Divine Office that monks pray is also in its traditional Cistercian form.

• at 6:45 A.M. on week days (during winter months in the Winter Chapel).

• at 10:00 A.M. on Sundays and major holidays (1 Jan., 6 Jan., 26 Jan., 19 March, 1 June, 5 July, 11 July, 15 August, 28 September, 1 October, 8 December, 25 December, Easter, The Feast of the Ascension, Pentecost, Corpus Christi, and The Feast of the Sacred Heart).
